Ayra Starr has confirmed her relocation to New York City. She revealed it during a recent video interview, where she spoke about settling into the city and why it feels familiar to her.

When asked if she now lives in New York, she smiled and said she does. She added that she has been a resident for less than two months. She said the move didn’t feel dramatic because she had been visiting the city often. She also said she has always felt like a New Yorker in spirit.

She explained that New York reminds her of Lagos because of its pace, energy, and cultural feel. She pointed to the strong African community in the city and noted that the presence of Nigerians makes it feel like home.
