The familiar “Sugar Daddy” side of Ghanaian hitmaker KiDi resurfaces on “2 Much Sugar”, a playful romantic record included on his third studio album Where Do We Go From Here.
KiDi centres the song on attraction and the overwhelming sweetness he associates with the woman in question, returning to the flirtatious writing that has long been one of the most recognisable parts of his pop persona.
DJ Breezy produced the record, adding another established Ghanaian producer to an album whose production team includes M.O.G Beatz, GuiltyBeatz, JAE5, Supa Dubs, Liquidbeatz, Ugly and Tough.
The track also creates a useful connection with the branding surrounding KiDi since his 2019 Sugar era. Years later, he can still revisit that sweet-talking character without making the entire album depend on it, placing the song among more reflective and vulnerable material.
