Two years after helping write “Last Heartbreak Song”, American R&B artist Leon Thomas moves into the foreground with Nigerian singer Ayra Starr on “Pressure”, a 2026 cut from Starrgirl.
Ayra Starr approaches the record with open desire, describing attraction as something immediate and physical while inviting the person beside her into a private escape from everything outside the moment.
Leon Thomas answers from the second verse, admitting his own interest and pushing the flirtation further with lines about taking the relationship beyond casual attraction and making his intentions known.
The collaboration also closes an interesting creative loop. Thomas previously contributed as a songwriter to Ayra’s 2024 album The Year I Turned 21, but this time his voice becomes part of the record itself.
