FOLA - awade | MP3 Audio Download
“awade”, a Yoruba expression meaning “we have arrived”, introduces 9 album, the 2026 sophomore project from Nigerian singer FOLA.
The expression carries significance following the singer’s rapid rise in Afrobeats. His breakthrough with “alone” and the subsequent success of catharsis established him as a prominent emerging talent, making the declaration of arrival particularly relevant to his career.
FOLA has described the album as a collection developed from personal experiences, working alongside musicians and producers he admires. Opening with a statement of arrival gives the project a clear introductory purpose and connects naturally with its football-inspired title.
The number nine represents the traditional centre-forward, a position associated with scoring goals. Having embraced the identity of a striker in music, FOLA uses the album concept to reflect his growing confidence and commercial achievements.
