FOLA – 9 (Album)

Built around his football-inspired identity, 9 is the second studio album from Nigerian singer FOLA, arriving in 2026 as the follow-up to his acclaimed 2025 debut, catharsis.

The album’s title references the number nine striker, a position FOLA associates with his ability to produce successful records. Across 14 tracks, he welcomes Davido, Ayra Starr, BNXN, Darkoo, Bella Shmurda and Zlatan, bringing together established hitmakers and artists from different corners of contemporary African music.

FOLA has explained that the songs grew from personal experiences, with contributions from some of his favourite instrumentalists and producers. His established approach to melodic Afropop, which draws heavily on R&B influences, provides an important background to this new body of work.

His rise since the breakthrough success of “alone” has been accompanied by stronger commercial recognition, successful collaborations and growing demand for his live performances. With several previously released favourites included, 9 arrives at a significant point in his career, carrying expectations beyond the popularity of its guest appearances.

The album is available across major digital streaming platforms. Listen to the full project and tell us which tracks are your favourites in the comments below.
