Nigeria’s Super Eagles have arrived in Marrakesh ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final showdown against Algeria scheduled for Saturday.

The fixture is expected to pose a serious challenge for the Nigerian side as they look to sustain their momentum and keep their hopes of winning a fourth AFCON title alive.

A video shared on X on Thursday showed the Super Eagles being warmly received by residents of Marrakesh upon their arrival. The clip was posted by photojournalist Sulaimon Adebayo, popularly known as Pooja.

The team is targeting a place in the semi-finals following an impressive Round of 16 performance and an intense build-up off the pitch.

Nigeria booked their place in the last eight with a dominant 4–0 win over Mozambique in Fès, maintaining a perfect record at the tournament so far.

Preparations for the quarter-final had earlier been overshadowed by reports of unpaid bonuses, which led to concerns about player unrest and possible disruptions to training or travel plans.

Those concerns have since eased after the National Sports Commission confirmed that all outstanding allowances and match bonuses have been approved and are being processed, allowing the players to focus fully on the task against Algeria.
