OMAH LAY – BACK TO LAGOS

The song reflects on success, fame and the pressures accompanying a life of international recognition. Omah Lay references expensive fashion, demanding schedules and the inconveniences of his lifestyle before expressing his desire to return to Lagos, the city that played an important role in his musical breakthrough.

Atmospheric guitar, deep bass and choral textures establish a subdued musical setting. The arrangement gives considerable space to his vocals, while the recurring wordless refrain creates a contrast with the more descriptive lyrics.

The recording adds another perspective to the personal experiences explored throughout the album. With the original project having secured multiple entries on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart, Omah Lay enters this extended release with an established international audience and considerable streaming momentum.
